Roadways are partially snow covered Thursday morning, but it's the bitter cold that's causing even more havoc thanks to 25 mph wind gusts and the single-digit temperature.
Temperatures in Antelope County have dipped to 4 degrees, but the wind chill is even lower at -18, making conditions dangerous for travelers in the blowing snow. The wind chill is expected to inch up to -9 by 4 p.m. Thursday with a high temperature of 10 degrees possible.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is reporting partially covered highways across Northeast Nebraska, including Antelope County. Officials said expect blowing snow on the roadways.
