About the Antelope County News
The Antelope County News serves all of Antelope County, and is a subsidiary of Pitzer Digital LLC, based in Neligh, Nebraska. The ACN is part of a four-county online media division called My Local County News, which also serves Knox, Holt and Boone counties in Northeast Nebraska.
The ACN was launched in January 2014 as an online-only medium to serve the local area with digital coverage that heavily utilizes social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. It has grown to become a full news site and one of Northeast Nebraska's most trusted medias. With accurate and timely breaking news coverage, along with videos, features and sports, the ACN has become Antelope County's most popular website with one of the highest social media engagement ratios of all media in the state.
In an unprecedented moved - going from digital to print - Pitzer Digital purchased The Orchard News newspaper in early 2016 from John and Lucy Ferguson. The newspaper is now the Antelope County News/Orchard News and based in Neligh. It is now the fastest growing community newspaper in the state, having more than doubled subscriptions and over the counter sales in a matter of months of the purchase.
In 2018, the Nebraska Press Association awarded the ACN the Loral Johnson Community Sweepstakes award as the top weekly newspaper in the state — of all sizes.
The newspaper is printed each Wednesday and is available by subscription or at various locations. Every community in Antelope County carries the newspaper, which was the first color newspaper in the county. To subscribe or purchase a single copy, click here. The newspaper is a longtime member of the Nebraska Press Association and is now based in Neligh, the county seat.
The Antelope County News is owned by Carrie and Wade Pitzer. Carrie Pitzer is the publisher of both the online version and the newspaper.
