J-H Warriors Roll To 50-14 Victory Over Plainview

A fast start and strong offensive performance propelled the Neligh-Oakdale junior high football team to a 50-14 triumph over Plainview Monday at Warrior Field.

Carson Whitesel took the opening kickoff 75-yards for a touchdown to start the contest.

On N-O's next possession, Aiden Kuester connected on a 52-yard TD pass to Bryson Gadeken and Kuester found Austin Rudolf for the two-point conversion. 

Chase Furstenau ran in the end zone from two yards out to extend the Warriors' lead to 22-0 after the first.

Following a Plainview score, Kuester broke free for a 28-yard TD run and completed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Gadeken, giving N-O a 36-6 advantage at half.

In the second half, Kuester threw a 44-yard scoring pass to Whitesel and Furstenau had a 75-yard TD scamper for the Warriors final score.

The offensive line of Jacob Henry, Tanner Martensen, Landon Schrader and Gadeken had another strong performance for N-O, helping the Warriors gain 329 yards of total offense.

Kuester rushed for 66 yards, threw for 147 yards and four total TDs. Furstenau ran for 75 yards and two scores, Whitesel had a rushing and receiving touchdowns and Gadeken caught four passes for 118 yards and two TDs.

The defense was stifling for for the maroon and white, led by Whitesel's 12 tackles. Kuester recorded seven tackles and a forced fumble, Schrader and Gadeken each collected six tackles, Rudolf and Furstenau accounted for five tackles each, Gavin Longsdorth and Tanner Martinsen tallied three tackles each, Trysten Coover had two tackles, Colson Krebs recorded an interception and a tackle, Caleb Payne and Jackson Sehi each pitched in a tackle.

Neligh-Oakdale (2-0) travels to Tilden Monday for a 4 p.m. matchup against Elkhorn Valley.
