Many area students started off the new school year with a fun celebration.
On Saturday, August 27, 19 children from youth groups in Orchard, Ewing and Clearwater traveled to Camp Fontanelle near Fremont for a kick-off youth rally. The rally was open to students in third through eighth grades. The purpose of the day was to connect with other students across Eastern Nebraska to motivate the kids to live for Jesus Christ during the new school year. The day was filled with activities, games, music and worship.
The project was sponsored by the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church. Youth groups from Orchard United Methodist Church and the Ewing United Methodist/Presbyterian U.S.A Church made the trip together.
Ryan Rifer, Jason Shaver, Cash Wickersham, Coy Wickersham, Sam Cheatum, Wyatt Shabram Ayden Williams, Aubrey Jackson, Hadley Cheatum, Gunnar Shabram, Ashton Williams, Collin Mullins, Amanda Shabram and Jeff Shabram all attended from Orchard.
Jadyn Hobbs, Jaycee Reynolds and Landon Hobbs of Ewing made the trip while Rafe Grebin and Tyler Bellar of Clearwater joined as well.
