Funeral services for Roger A. Henery, age 74, of Plainview will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview.

Roger A. Henery departed this world on June 21, 2019 for his eternal home in heaven. Roger was born December 6, 1944 in Plainview, Nebraska to Charles (Clem) and Fern (Michaelson) Henery. On April 1, 1956 he was brought to the waters of Holy Baptism at Antelope Creek Methodist Church, rural Elgin, Nebraska where later in life he was also confirmed. He graduated from Neligh/Oakdale in 1961. Roger enlisted in the Army National Guard in April of 1966 and served his country honorably for six years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening and tinkering on equipment.  He traveled more than 3,000,000 miles across our beautiful country as an over the road truck driver – further deepening his love for our great nation. Roger will forever be remembered as an honest, kind and loving man.

Roger is survived by his wife of 23 years Brenda (Spatz) Henery. They were joined in marriage on June 8, 1996 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Other survivors are three sons: Troy Henery, Heyworth, IL; Curtis (Alison) Henery, Lennox, SD; and James Henery, Clearwater, FL; stepchildren: Michael Kuhl, Plainview; James (Teresa) Kuhl, Creighton; Jennifer (Robert) Nelson, Plainview; Heather (Travis) Stacken, Creighton; and Dawn (Michael) Countryman, Lincoln. Siblings: Kay (Tim) Gilfert, Norfolk; Claudia (Tim) Brown, Oakdale; and Joe (Cheryl) Henery, Norfolk; a bushel of grandchildren and a basketful of great-grandchildren.  Numerous friends and other family members.
