Funeral Services For Betty Schwarting

​Funeral services for Betty E. Schwarting, age 92, of Oakdale, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019, at United Methodist Church in Oakdale. John Petersen will officiate, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden, Nebraska.
 
Betty died Monday, August 19, 2019, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, Nebraska.
 
Betty E. Schwarting, daughter of Emmett and Dorothy (McCloud) Medcalf, was born March 19, 1927, at Sioux City, Iowa. Betty attended country school at Clearwater, Nebraska. On January 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Irvie Schwarting at Bellview, Kansas. Six children were born to them.
 
Betty lived her entire life in Oakdale, Nebraska. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Neligh Nursing Home. Betty also worked as a waitress and in later years, she babysat for numerous Oakdale families.
 
Betty was a member of Oakdale Methodist Church, Oakdale Methodist Women, and Betty’s Club of Nebraska.
 
Betty is survived by her children, Diana Clevanger of Auburn, Indiana, Judy Hershberger of Oakdale, Nebraska, Georgia (Anthony) Welcome of Ty Bae Island, Georgia, Bill (Joni) Schwarting of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Tony Schwarting of Oakdale; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvie; son, Randy; and her parents.
