Youth outdoorsman, Hunter Charf is in the field hunting with mentors Randy Howser and Mark Eggers.
Youth hunters from the area recently had the opportunity to participate in a mentor pheasant hunt.
This annual event is sponsored by Pheasants Forever. The Antelope County Shooters Club provided the ammunition for the Oct. 11 hunt.
Youth who participated in the event were Colby Harney, Zane Richardson, Danielle Warneke, Bradyn Tschirren, Hunter Charf, Dawson Kaup, Jackson Keetle, Ashton Higgins, Andrew Jacobsen, Caleb Payne and Ashton Shabram. All of the youth had completed a fall hunter's safety course and were selected from the Neligh and Tilden classes.
Mentors were Mark Hansen, Ed Hansen, Bill Bailey, Ron Knight, Bill Hanse, Lyle Juracek, Boyd Pedersen, Roger Tillson, Randy Howser, Chris Hansen, Phillip Martin, Mark Eggers, Don Marshall, Tim Steffl, Mike Seier, Dane Nielsen and Jerry Martin.
Guest speaker for the event was Ryan Lodge, a Farm Bill Biologist with Pheasants Forever.
