The Battle Creek boys and girls teams jumped out to an early lead over Neligh-Oakdale on Tuesday night and never looked back.
The Lady Warriors trailed 13-2 at the end of the first quarter, and were eventually handed a 70-31 loss.
Kinsley Klabenes led the team with 17 points and Hallie Knutson added 6.
In the boys game, the Warriors were down by 8 at the end of the first, but struggled to close the gap as the Battle Creek shooters continued their hot streak. N-O got within 7 in the third, but just couldn't overcome the early deficit, falling 82-58.
"Give credit to Battle Creek, they shot the ball well and really made it hard to defend," Coach Frank Gade said. "I think we are better then what we showed, but the defense has to improve if we want to accomplish our goals."
Ben Lingenfelter led the Warriors with 18 points, followed by Grant White with 15 and Tyson Belitz with 10. Click here for complete stats.
