The Neligh-Oakdale basketball teams went 1-1 in their final varsity double-header of the season.
The Lady Warriors were downed 66-22, while the N-O boys came away with a 59-47 victory.
Friday the 13th proved to be unlucky for the Lady Warriors as CWC came out firing, putting up 32 points in the first quarter. N-O couldn't overcome the early deficit and eventually fell by a 44-point margin.
In the boys game, the Warriors and Renegades traded shots back and forth for much of the game. N-O didn't stretch out their lead until the final minutes.
With two minutes on the clock, Grant White swiped the ball from CWC and streaked up the court for a layup, giving the Warriors an 8-point lead. N-O kept their opponent from scoring and headed back down the court. Tyson Belitz hit a shot for two, putting them up by 10, but CWC retaliated on their next possession to pull back within 8. Belitz drove to the hoop, drawing the foul. He drained both free throws to recapture the 10-point lead. CWC hit one more shot - a 3-pointer - but Belitz sank 5 free throws in the final minute to seal the win for the Warriors.
