A vehicle struck a substation in Neligh on Sunday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m., a vehicle struck the substation located beside the City of Neligh Economic Development/Neligh Chamber Of Commerce Office. No information has been released on the driver or the individual's condition.
The vehicle traveled west between the economic development office and the Cowboy Trail before breaking through the substation fence.
Power was temporarily off in Neligh as a result of the accident but quickly restored thanks to Neligh's generation plant. City Superintendent Dean Bly said there will be multiple outages overnight in Neligh as the substation is repaired and has asked residents to plan accordingly. Bly said he does not know exactly when the outages will occur.
The City of Neligh electrical department was on scene of the accident, as were the Neligh Fire Department, Neligh-Oakdale Jaws of Life, Neligh Rescue and Neligh Police Department.
The Antelope County Sheriff's Department and Nebraska State Patrol was assisting with traffic.
The accident remains under investigation.
