Two Antelope County residents were sentenced on multiple charges during District Court on Wednesday in Neligh.
Shane Sleister appeared in court Wednesday for sentencing on a 3rd degree assault charge stemming from an altercation at a bar in Oakdale. Sleister pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge James Kube sentenced Sleister to pay a $500 fine and pay court costs in the amount of $167.
Staci Giebelman of Tilden appeared in court on multiple charges stemming from two different incidents. Giebelman, who was an in-home service provider, obtained a credit card from an elderly woman and used it to make multiple unauthorized purchases totaling $2,076.83.
After being confronted by law enforcement, she fled the scene and was combative. Giebelman pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, obstructing a police officer, and resisting arrest. Kube sentenced Giebelman to serve 90 days in jail and 18 months probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,076.83 in restitution to the victim and to pay court costs in the amount of $147.
Giebelman also appeared Wednesday for a separate attempted burglary charge, a class 3A felony. The court moved to continue her trail to July 26 at 9:00 a.m.
