Lacey Brandt and Adrienne Parker; fourth and fifth graders at Neligh-Oakdale, respectively; have been selected to participate in the 2015 Children's All-State Choir on Thursday, Nov. 19.
This event is for fourth- and fifth-grade students from across the entire state of Nebraska and is limited to only 300 singers. Students will rehearse all day and get to work with renowned composer/arranger/choreographer/conductor Sally K. Albrecht. An annual recipient of the ASCAP Special Music Award since 1987, Sally has more than 325 popular choral publications in print, over 50 larger elementary songbooks and musicals, plus 15 choral movement instructional DVD’s. Sally has directed and staged the half-time show singers performing during two Florida Citrus Bowls, and has conducted hundreds of honor choir events, including festivals in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center. The final Children's All-State Choir concert will be held at 4 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Lied Center in Lincoln. Tickets for the performance are $8.25 plus Lied Center fees, shipping and handling and can be purchased through the Lied Center of Performing Arts Box office. |
