The Willows Assisted Living was able to celebrate their 15 years as a center by winning a Bronze National Quality Award that shows their dedication to the care of the residents.
Although The Willows has been recognized nationally for other reasons, this award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
“Once you win the Bronze, you can apply for the Silver and then for the Gold,” said Administrator of The Willows Jayne Prince. “That will be our long term goal.”
Winning this award is a significant accomplishment for the 28 room facility and Prince says that it is all about doing what is best for the residents.
“It is like you are walking into their homes,” She explained. “Our residents do not live in our workplace, we work in their home.”
Prince credits the 24 employees at The Willows and the community as a whole to the success of the facility.
The Willows appreciates the support of the community as a locally owned assisted living.
“The fire department, the EMT’s, the hospital, the doctors, the nursing home, the police,” Prince explained. “They support us and are there for us when we need them and it is so great.”
The positive environment and quality care inside and outside of the building has earned them a spot at the AHCA/NCAL’s 67th Annual Convention and Exposition in Nashville in October.
