Some Neligh-Oakdale Marching Band Students Prepare For All Star Game

The Northeast Nebraska All Star Marching Band began practice at Norfolk High School today for the game on Saturday.

Students from Neligh-Oakdale who were chosen by their director are Sierra Centamore, Andrew Sanderson, Emma Bixler, Hailey Bixler,Jordan Kneivel, Alxis Jensen, Zia Moore, Celia Knievel, Brittany McConnell, Wynter Fulsaas, Jordan Fulsaas, and Jayda Chance.

This week consists of rehearsals, practicing fundamentals, and optional evening activities. 

Neligh-Oakdale Band Director Nate Metschke said that even with the warm weather, they will have a good time.

"This all star band is a great experience," Metschke said. "it gives my students a chance to march a field show and the ones who are participating love it."

Today, the band started to learn the 10 songs and tomorrow they will begin learning the fundamentals of marching as well as the half-time show.

The game begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Field in Norfolk.
