Neligh-Oakdale Public School is accepting applications for a vacancy
on the Board of Education.
Due to the recent resignation of Sara Shabram, Supt. Kim Lingenfelter said the school is taking applications for a new board member. She said Shabram is resigning because she plans to move out of the school district and residency is a board requirement.
"As an administrator, I respected and valued Sara Shabram's input, since she had previous experience as a teacher," Lingenfelter said. "Sara's positive attitude will be missed - she always made her decisions based upon what was best for the students of Neligh-Oakdale."
According to the school's website:
The term of the office will be from the time of appointment until December of 2014. Candidates must be residents of Neligh-Oakdale Public School, District #02-0009, and registered voters.
The position will be filled through the following process:
1) Interested residents are to submit a written statement indicating their interest in
the position by noon on April 14, 2014.
2) Candidates will be questioned (interviewed) one at a time in open session. Each
Board member will ask one question of each candidate at the April 14, 2014
regular Board meeting.
3) Following the interview process, motions will be in order for filling the vacancy.
Applications should be sent to:
