The Neligh-Oakdale Board of Education will hold a special meeting next week to discuss and take action on the hiring of a superintendent search firm.
According to a public notice by the district, the meeting will be held following the strategic planning retreat on Tuesday, January 27, at 3:30 p.m. The retreat was originally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, but has since been moved to Tuesday. The special meeting is public, as is the strategic planning retreat, which will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. An agenda for both meetings is available at the office of the superintendent during normal business hours. Superintendent Kimberly Lingenfelter resigned in December, effective June 30, 2015. Her resignation was accepted with regret by a 3-2 vote. At Monday's regular board meeting, several board members requested discussion on offering Lingenfelter a contract be placed on either the strategic planning retreat agenda or on the February agenda. Board president David Wright has refused to add the item to either agenda.
