There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new nearly half-million dollar six-lane track at Neligh-Oakdale.
This Saturday at 2 pm will be the ribbon cutting followed by FBLA members giving tours of the school.
Construction on the old track, which had chunks missing throughout, began on March 16.
In January, the board accepted a bid to install the track for $419,000. Interim Superintendent Bill Kuester said the $419,000 did not include improving the drainage of the track, which he said is part of the reason it deteriorated years ago.
With the new track, Neligh-Oakdale will be able to host meets again, although not conference or district meets since the track will only be six lanes.
These activities are being scheduled in conjunction with the Neligh-Oakdale Alumni banquet. All parties interested are invited to attend.
