Public Invited To Check Out What Neligh Could Look Like

What could Neligh's downtown area look like if the City received the grant to move forward with the Downtown Revitalization? On Tuesday, the public will see for themselves . . . and help spark ideas for more plans. 

The public is invited to the Neligh American Legion at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, for a Facade Party, which will show computer renderings of various buildings. The City of Neligh's Economic Development team, along with the Neligh Downtown Revitalization committee, is working with planning coordinators Miller and Associates to put together a plan for the grant.

That plan will then move on to the City Council before being submitted for an opportunity to receive about $350,000 in grants for the project. Neligh was one of eight communities in the state to receive Phase I funding, which pays for the expense of the current planning stage.

Just three communities are expected to receive Phase II funding this fall; however, once Neligh's plan is in place, there are more opportunities to receive funding for implementation even without this specific grant.
