Neligh-Oakdale To Hold Fire Prevention Week Presentation

It’s fire prevention month, and Neligh-Oakdale schools are teaming up with the Neligh Fire Department to help educate the students.

On October 13, the firefighters will visit with West Ward Elementary students throughout the day. Each class will take their turn taking a ride in the fire truck up to the fire station. They will take a tour of the fire station and get to know the firefighters. Students will also have a chance to learn about firefighting equipment and see what gear a firefighter wears.

Once all the classes have had the chance to explore the fire station, the firefighters will speak to all the students in the gym for a presentation.

Classes will dismiss at the normal 3:35 p.m. dismissal time.
