The Neligh-Oakdale third graders are making history. . . in reading.
The class of 31 students recorded a rare feat of all students reaching their Accelerated Reading goals for the entire school year.
"After 20 years of using the AR program, this third-grade class was the only class to meet their individual goals all four quarters of this school year. That's quite an achievement," said Sharon Kinnan, third-grade teacher.
Fellow third-grade teacher Cassie Baldo said the reading comprehension seen is also impressive.
"We have 31 students and they each met their own individual goals and each had an 85 percent accuracy rate, which means they comprehend what they read," she said.
