The Neligh-Oakdale boys shot 61 percent from the field on Saturday to pick up a win over Madison, sweeping the doubleheader with the Dragons.
"Tough win but we will take it. Give credit to Madison - they shot the ball well," Neligh-Oakdale boys basketball coach Frank Gade said "Next week is a big week for us, and we will need to play four quarters to get wins. Hopefully, we can rise as the competition does coming down the stretch."
Sophomore Ben Lingenfelter picked up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He also had two blocked shots. Classmate Grant White led the Warriors in scoring with 21 points.
Tyson Belitz put together a complete game with nearly a triple double. The sophomore had nine points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the Warrior win. Click here for complete stats.
In girls action, the Warriors defeated Madison 60-50 for their second win the last three games. Neligh-Oakdale put up a season-high 60 points - more than their two previous games combined.
Kinsley Klabenes led the Lady Warriors with 20 points, followed by Hallie Knutson and Whitney Beacom with 10 each. Knutson had a double-double as she also led the team with 10 rebounds on the night. Click here for complete game stats.
The Warriors will host O'Neill on Monday and will travel to Orchard on Tuesday to play the Cyclones.
