Neligh-Oakdale Grad To Bring New Fitness Center To Neligh

A Neligh-Oakdale graduate is hoping to bring a fitness center and nutritional guidance to Neligh.

Seth and Shelby Snodgrass of Royal are in the process of purchasing the Main Street Mall building and developing it into a gym called 719 Fitness Center. They hope to use LB 840 funding, according to Neligh Economic Development director Greg Ptacek.

Ptacek told his board of directors during Monday’s meeting that the couple is in the final stages of development and plan to request $30,000 from the loan review committee.

"We are both very passionate about health and fitness. We have transformed our lives into a healthy lifestyle and we love everything about it,” said Seth Snodgrass, a 2006 Neligh-Oakdale graduate. "There are so many benefits to exercising, and we want to share those benefits with the community. We want to give Neligh an amazing fitness center with a positive environment.”

He added, "We want to show people that exercising and being healthy can be fun and enjoyable. Being healthy is very important to us, and we want to reach out and help as many people as we can."

Ptacek said the Snodgrasses are working with a bank for an SBA loan for the rest of the financing to assist in purchasing and renovating the building and purchasing equipment.

Besides offering fitness and personal training, Snodgrass said 719 Fitness Center will offer a variety of cardio equipment, weight training equipment (both free weights and machines) and personal training. They also plan to offer nutritional guidance where they help clients with meal plans and to make better nutrition choices, Snodgrass said. They also will have a massage therapist working in the gym.

"One of the things that we are most excited about is out shake bar,” Snodgrass said. "We will be offering a variety of healthy protein shakes. Some flavors, just to name a few chocolate peanut butter, berry blast, purple people eater, chocolate banana, no bake cookie, tutie frutie, along with about 50 other choices. They will be great for people to make healthy choices, and our shake bar is open to the public even for people who aren't members.”
