At approximately 11:30 on Tuesday morning, the Neligh Volunteer Fire Department responded to a barn fire a half mile west of Neligh.
Smoke could be seen across town as the Fire Department tried to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby building.
"It was already still trying to ignite from convection heat." Fire Chief Mike Mortensen said.
The building is considered a total loss with a vehicle, a few motors, a generator, and an irrigation motor inside.
Chief Mortensen said that old wood and the ventilation could be the cause of the blaze burning so rapidly.
"With something like that, it was already fully involved in 10 minutes and down on the ground in another 15," Mortensen said. "It goes, you just can't stop it."
An excavator was brought in to help go through the remains of the building to help make sure there was no hot spots.
There was no injuries and the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
