The show will go on for Neligh's TK/Starlite Drive-In, but it will be mid-week before movies will be shown again. Manager Brittany Kallhoff said their digital projector had been experiencing issues the last several days, but last night it was determined to be unrepairable. "We have a new digital projector being flown in, but it will be at least Wednesday before we can show any movies," Kallhoff said. "We apologize for any inconvenience this is. We realize people travel to support the drive-in, and we are sorry that we will be unable to show movies until then." Kallhoff said the current digital projector is "completely fried" and will be replaced by a new model, which is extremely expensive for the seasonal business. The drive-in has been accepting donations for some time to help with the funding. Anyone who would like to make a donation to help fund the purchase of the digital projector can do that online here. Kallhoff said TK/Starlite Drive-In will update the projector's status via Facebook and its website. That will be the best way for people to know when movies will be shown again, she said. "It was very disappointing having to send people home last night when they came out to support the drive-in," Kallhoff said. "But we will get the new projector running as quickly as we can and let everyone know as soon as we will be showing movies again. Hopefully, we'll be showing movies by Wednesday." Kallhoff said the drive-in will be showing "Planes: Fire & Rescue" and "Maleficient" through Thursday, July 31. "We really appreciate the support of the community and people from all over the area who come to Neligh for the drive-in," Kallhoff said |
