Neligh’s annual Christmas Lighting Contest may have been won by a new face this year, but you can’t exactly call him a rookie. After all, the contest was won by an electrician.
Brian and Tessa Hain, who live at 605 N St., won the residential division. The contest is sponsored by the Neligh Chamber of Commerce and the City of Neligh. Brian is an electrician for Neligh’s utility division.
"I'm real excited to judge next year, " said Brian Hain.
Honorable Mentions in the residential division went to Roger and Rosemary Legate of 510 E 4th Street and Tom and Sheila Parks at 710 2nd St.
In the religious category, the United Methodist Church was named the winner. Floyd and Ann Knust were honorable mention.
Moyer’s Department Store won the business division. Honorable Mentions went to 319 Graphics and the Neligh Flower Shop.
The winners each receive $100 off of the electric bill from the City of Neligh. The lighting displays were judged by last year's Christmas Lighting winners.
