Neligh Chamber Honors Outstanding Service In Community

Outstanding service in both the Neligh community and business community were recognized Saturday night.

Nate Metschke, Ed and Marlene Schindler and James Zielinski were honored at the annual Neligh Chamber of Commerce banquet.

Metschke, who founded the “We Support Neligh” campaign received the 2015 Outstanding Citizen of the Year award, an honor bestowed periodically to a resident who went above and beyond.

The Schindlers were recognized for their dedication to the success of the Neligh American Legion. After 18 years of leadership, they have stepped down from their role of managing the Legion.

Zielinski was recognized as the 2015 Chamber of the Year member after stepping up to lead the annual barbecue event as a first-year member.

The banquet was catered by Mamas and Nanas and wrapped up “Chamber Week.” The evening concluded a week of activities that included the inaugural Antelope County Ag and Show Expo. More than 600 people attended the event that featured 54 booths. ​
