Antelope Memorial Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year on Friday. Michael Andrew Luebe was born at 10:21 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27.
Brent and Sarah Luebe of Pierce welcomed Michael, their second son, on Friday. He joins big brother Matthew, age 2. He weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz and measured 19 1/2 inches long. Doctors were Dr. Roger Rudloff, Dr. Troy Dawson and Patti Good, APRN.
Sarah is a registered nurse at Antelope Memorial Hospital and the daughter of Ed and Ruth O'Brien of Tilden. She is a 2005 graduate of Newman Grove High School and a 2009 graduate of Northeast Community College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Brent is the son of Mark and Beverly Luebe of Pierce. He is a 1998 graduate of Pierce High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelor's degree in business administration-marketing.
The Neligh Chamber of Commerce continued its annual tradition of welcoming the first baby born of the New Year with gifts. The Luebe family received flowers arranged by Neligh Flower Shop and $50 in Neligh Big Bucks.
The gifts were presented by Chamber President Carrie Pitzer, Vice President Steve Simonsen, Secretary Colten Marsh, Treasurer Jill Kallhoff and Economic Development Director Greg Ptacek.
