A local business owner was inside his building as the roof blew off and landed in the parking lot.
Owner Lyle Coover said he was in his office of Coover's Skelly Service when he watched the roof fly off his building around noon on Wednesday. Covering the shop of the building, tin and wood frame flipped into the parking lot, just feet away from a parked tractor.
"I was sitting here and heard all of the noise. I looked out here, and there it was," Coover said.
The roof is relatively new as it was built nine months ago. Coover said it was purchased and built in June of 2015.
Originally a truck stop, the current Coover's Skelly Service is located east of Neligh along Highway 275.
