Mayor Joe Hartz presented a special award at the Neligh City Council meeting on September 13. The mayor also presented another award on October 11.
On September 13, Hartz presented a plaque to Jim McNally for his 50 years as City Attorney with the City of Neligh.
“Jim has been a real spearhead as far as our power company, Neligh Electric, and he’s done a good job over the years of trying to promote that to make it a good entity,” said Hartz.
“He’s always there if you have a question legally about a thing that is going on. He’s there for questions of legalities of things that are happening and just some history as far as what happened in the past, what created it, why we are here and he’s just been a real asset as far as providing legal assistance to the City of Neligh over 50 years.”
On October 11, during Neligh’s City council Meeting, an award was also given to Rachel Schrader honoring her 35 years of employment with the city of Neligh.
“Rachel’s been a good employee. She’s reliable and work’s well with other people,” said Hartz. “She’s taken charge of park activities and taking care of the park as well as working with the other employees when they need help in another area. She’s always been willing to help so she’s been a really good employee.”
McNally and Schrader are only two of many examples of Neligh residents who have dedicated their careers to improving the city.
