A Neligh-Oakdale graduate was recently the recipient of an incredible scholarship courtesy of Helena Chemical Company in Brunswick.
Brittany McConnell, daughter of Alisha Carr and Jeremy McConnell, was announced as the winner of the $1,000 Helena Homegrown Scholarship. The scholarship was made possible thanks to donations from Michael and Anna Crabtree of Brunswick.
Helena is committed to supporting the next generation of agriculture through the Helena Homegrown Scholarship program. Their goal is to help local customers and communities grow more than just crops. Whether through the Homegrown Scholarship or their industry-leading internship program, Helena is committed to growing the future generation of ag leaders and professionals.
The company said in a statement that they would like to thank Michael and Anna Crabtree for their commitment to Helena and their support in growing the next generation of ag professionals in their community.
McConnell plans to attend Northeast Community College in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology.
