Hilltop Drugs Etc. Now Packaging Medication For Each Use

What if all your medication was organized for you? You know, one packet with everything you need each time you take medication - all with the time and date you are to take it. All customized for you.

And if you're going to be gone a few days, you could just tear off the packets of medication for those days and head out the door without spending time sorting medication and making sure you have it all.

Sound too good to be true? Well, it's not and this free service is now available at Hilltop Drugs Etc in Neligh. 

The new service - called Redi-Medi - is just that, according to Hilltop owners Jami Schmidt and Koryn Koinzan - medication that is ready for you to grab on the go or conveniently organized when you have a lot of different medications to take.

"We're using the newest technology available to package medications," Schmidt said. "This service will help people remember to take their medication at the appropriate time." 

What about daily vitamins or other over-the-counter medication? Can that be included?

"Absolutely," Koinzan said. "We'll contact your doctor and get that set up for you as well, so that it can be included in your customized packets."

Hilltop Drugs Etc. is the only pharmacy in Antelope County and one of just a handful of pharmacies in the state to offer this new technology.

"We're excited to offer Redi-Medi to the area," Schmidt said. "It's one of many ways Hilltop Drugs Etc. is moving toward better patient care that's both convenient and cost effective."

Schmidt said Hilltop Drugs Etc. is also offering a program called "Simplify My Meds." It's syncs the medication refill process so everything is filled at once.

"Customers should make an appointment with us, bring in all of their medicines, including vitamins and supplements, and together we'll establish a date for the automatic medicine renewal," Schmidt said.

Hilltop Drugs Etc. has also expanded its counseling services and now offers Medication Counseling Management, which allows customers to sit down with their pharmacist to go over medication side effects and how medications will interact.

"We always ask our customers if they have any questions. Medication Counseling Management is more comprehensive than ever before," Schmidt said. "It takes about 30 minutes and gives a more detailed look into how medication interact with one another."

Koinzan said these new services are all for the purpose of improving patient care. 

Hilltop Drugs Etc. will host an open house/customer appreciation on July 18 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and serve lunch.
