'Gentle' Golf Ball-Sized Hail Causes Minor Damage In Neligh

Golf ball-size hail struck Neligh on Friday night, breaking out windows and denting vehicles.

What's being called "a gentle hail storm," despite the size of the stones, didn't cause as much damage as it could have due to the low wind speed. The hail fell straight down and didn't cause much damage to roofs, according to local contractors.

A window was broken out of a home on the south edge of Neligh and at least two City of Neligh police vehicles received damage. Most of the damage being reported Saturday morning by Neligh residents, according to officials, was to vehicles.
