Frey's Programming Questions Being Answered At Google

A Neligh-Oakdale graduate is experiencing a rare opportunity this summer as he spends three weeks beside Google engineers in Seattle.

Bryce Frey, son of Brian and Leann Frey, was selected for the three-week, all expense paid camp at Google's Seattle Campus titled Google CSSI (Computer Science Summer Institute). It is taking place from July 10-30 and is only available to a select number of graduated high school seniors planning on studying computer science in college. Frey was one of 150 students selected out of thousands of applications received by Google for the summer camp.

"I'm thrilled to spend three weeks at one of the biggest technology companies in the world with peers who are just as interested as I am in technology," Frey said.

According to Google, the camp is an intensive, interactive, hands-on and fun program that seeks to inspire the tech leaders and innovators of tomorrow by supporting the study of computer science, software engineering and other closely related subjects.

CSSI students are learning programming fundamentals directly from Google engineers, getting an inside look at some of Google's most exciting, emerging technologies and even designing and developing applications with fellow participants.

Frey, who graduated from Neligh-Oakdale in May, will be attending Cornell University in New York this fall.
