First Baby Of 2018 At AMH Is Born On Valentine's Day

They added even more love to their lives this Valentine's Day.

Juan and Faviola Ramirez of Brunswick welcomed Renato, their third son, on Wednesday at 4:23 p.m.  He weighed 6 lbs, 0 oz and measured 19.75 inches long. Renato was the first baby of 2018 born at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. He joins big brothers Juan, 12 and Leonardo, 10; and sister Mireya, 1 1/2. 

Grandparents are Angelica Cabrera and Ramon Ramirez, both of Sioux City, Iowa.

The Neligh Chamber of Commerce continued its annual tradition of welcoming the first baby born of the New Year with gifts. The Ramirez family received flowers arranged by Neligh Flower Shop and $50 in Neligh Big Bucks. The gifts were presented by Gabe Steinmeyer, Steve and Lauren Simonsen, Rich Burgess, James Zielinski, Traci Jacobsen and Abby Frank.

Antelope Memorial Hospital also presented a gift basket filled with items for the baby.
