The State Fire Marshal's office has requested clarification from the Neligh-Oakdale Board of Education regarding their plan of correction.
The State Fire Marshal's office gave Neligh-Oakdale until April 1, which was the second deadline extension granted to the district, to submit a plan of correction for the fire and life safety code violations at the school's two facilities. The board approved a plan of correction at the March 9 meeting. View the plan When asked on April 1 if the plan of correction had been approved, Deputy Fire Marshal Don Fritz said he received the plan. However, Fritz said he requested clarification on installation of windows before he will finish his review of the plan. "On March 23rd, I sent a letter addressed to Mr. Dave Wright, c/o Neligh-Oakdale School, requesting clarification on one item," Fritz said. "I have not received a response to date. When I receive his response, I will finish reviewing the plan of correction." Fritz said no timeline was given for the board's response on his request for clarification. The Building and Grounds Committee, which created and recommended the plan of correction, consists of board members Ryan Koinzan, David Wright and Kenny Reinke, along with community members Ron Gilg and Cory Furstenau. Koinzan, Wright, Gilg and Furstenau met with Fritz in Lincoln on January 30 for input on creating the plan. As chairman of the committee, Koinzan appointed Gilg and Furstenau to serve with them. |
