FCCLA Students Earn Five Gold Medals At Nationals

Neligh-Oakdale's FCCLA is seeing nothing but gold this week.

Five FCCLA students competed this week at nationals in Nashville, Tenn. Tia Smith, Simon Beacom, Emma Bixler, Kasi Grosserode and Nikki Grosserode were joined by advisor Kim Scarborough as they looked to prove themselves among the best in the nation. 

As the week wrapped up on Thursday, they did just that. All five earned gold medals in their respective categories. Smith earned hers in fashion construction, both of the Grosserodes earned theirs in focus on children, Bixler earned gold in environmental ambassador and Beacom earned gold in advocacy.
