Drum Line Camp Ends With A Performance on Friday

​The Complete Percussion Drum Line Camp is ending tomorrow with a performance to show the students progression this week.
 
For the forth year, Michael Klee came from Columbus to show 6-12 grade students the fundamentals of percussion.
 
The week ends with a performance in the band room on Friday at 12:15.
 
“We have had kids out there learning how to march, learning how to mark time and play,” Nate Metschke, Neligh-Oakdale’s band teacher said.  “As we keep going the high school band is just going to keep getting better and better because of Drum Line Camp.”
 
Many of the kids who participate are not initially drummers. Many of them play a different instrument normally but are learning drum line for fun and also because it helps them become a better musician.
 
“Usually if you don’t do percussion in 6th grade, then you don’t get to touch a drum ever,”  Michael Klee said.  “It is a unique experience here. It’s a wonderful experience.”
