Darin Ternus Hired As New City Of Neligh Police Officer

His law enforcement career will come full circle as he rejoins the Neligh Police Department as its newest officer.

Darin Ternus, a deputy with the Antelope County Sheriff’s Department, will begin working with the Neligh Police Department on Jan. 1, 2019, according to Neligh Police Chief Mike Wright.

A 1986 Neligh-Oakdale graduate, Ternus served four years in the U.S. Navy and worked at Blackburn Manufacturing in Neligh before pursuing a career in law enforcement.

In 1998, he took his first job as a police officer with the Neligh Police Department. Ternus worked part-time for Neligh, the Antelope County Sheriff’s Department and the Tilden Police Department before he started working full-time for the sheriff’s department in 2000.

“I started out my career with the Neligh Police Department and look forward to rejoining the department and working with Chief Wright and Assistant Chief Nelson,” he said.

Darin and Becky Ternus reside in Clearwater along with their 10-year-old son Jacob.
