Creighton Tops Neligh In League Tournament Semifinal

Neligh fell to Creighton in the semifinals of the Elkhorn Valley League Tournament on Thursday night in what proved to be a pitcher's dual.

Chase Kallhoff took the 2-1 loss and gave up just one hit the first three innings, but Creighton's Austin Diedrichsen never made it home and was stranded on base. 

Creighton managed a run in the fourth inning, and Neligh knotted the score at 1 in the top of the sixth inning. Creighton responded in the bottom of the inning with the go-ahead run. Neither team scored again.

Ryan Neumann earned the win for Creighton and allowed just two hits in the game.

Creighton advanced to the league championship on Friday.
