Join in the fun activities for the whole family at the Neligh Mill Fall Festival this weekend.
The events will kick off on Friday night with a fish fry and bake sale at the Neligh Senior Center from 5 to 7 p.m. A full day of fun is planned on Saturday, starting with the Lion’s Club breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon and the Neligh Senior Center bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon. At 9:15 a.m., judging begins for the cookie baking contest at the historic Neligh Mill. Entries can be checked in from 8 to 9 a.m. The amateur-only contest is open to all ages. One dozen cookies must be submitted on a disposable plate with no identifying labels. Click here for registration form. A farmer’s market will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on the south side of the Antelope County courthouse. Beginning at 9 a.m., the classic show and shine car show will be held on Wylie Drive near the Neligh Mill. Participants may register from 9 a.m. to noon. The show will conclude at 3 p.m. There will be free admission to the Neligh Mill and Log Cabin and Pioneer Church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A craft show, flea market and antiques will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids games, face painting, cookie decorating and bouncy houses are planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 2 p.m., Dwight Howe will give a history presentation on the Ponca Tribe and Tradition in the Pioneer Church. The free admission program will run about 45 minutes. Cow Patty Bingo, sponsored by the Antelope County Historical Society One-Room Schoolhouse Project, will begin at 3 p.m. at the Antelope County fairgrounds. The festival will culminate with a free concert by the Dylan Bloom Band from 4 to 7 p.m. |
