Construction began this month on a new AMH Family Practice Clinic in Neligh.
The new facility will be built above Antelope Memorial Hospital’s current radiology department, extending to the north.
AMH Administrator Jack Green said there currently are not enough rooms in the original clinic for seeing patients or provider offices.
“The new clinic will have 10 rooms for patient clinic visits, one procedure room and an office for the providers. It will be designed to maximize the flow of patients in-coming and out-going,” Green said. “Plus, aesthetically the new clinic will have a warm and pleasant setting with an atmosphere of professionalism — complementing the quality care that our staff delivers.”
Clinic Manager Tami Kester said she’s excited for the new clinic to be completed.
“It will enhance the patient experience and minimize patient ‘wait time’ due to the availability of more patient rooms,” she said.”It will also support the quality care found at AMH while meeting the requirements of changing government regulations. This project reflects our intent to continue updating our clinic facilities — to better serve and meet the needs of our patients.”
The new clinic will better accommodate and enhance the clinic services and health care excellence provided by the AMH Medical Staff. Its members include Dr. Roger Rudloff, Dr. Troy Dawson, Dr. Brad Lockee, Patti Good, APRN, Sharon Gossman, APRN, Lindsey Badertscher, PA-C and Ashley Thies, APRN.
The current Neligh AMH Family Practice Clinic was originally built in the late 1980s by Dr. John Byrd — just north of the hospital. Dr. Byrd practiced solo when it first opened. In the late 1990s, Antelope Memorial Hospital purchased the clinic; Joanie Smith, APRN, provided its clinic services at that time.
In 1997, Dr. Rudloff and Dr. Dawson came to AMH and began practicing at the clinic in May and July, respectively. They were later joined in practice by nurse practitioners, Patti Good (February 1999) and Sharon Gossman (June 2000). Other providers who joined the current AMH Medical Staff more recently were Dr. Lockee (January 2015), Lindsey Badertscher, PA-C (June 2016) and Ashley Thies, APRN (July 2016).
Originally, the current clinic was built to accommodate up to two physicians comfortably. In 2005, a 100-foot corridor linking the hospital to the AMH Family Practice Clinic was built to better accommodate clinic patients who required radiology or lab services. However through the years, the clinic became outdated in accommodating enough room for services offered by AMH’s seven providers.
The AMH medical staff also provides clinic services at AMH Family Practice’s four satellite clinics located in Elgin, Clearwater, Tilden and Orchard.
