There's a first time for everything, and the Neligh-Oakdale elementary is already excited about being able to join in on dressing up for homecoming.
In previous years, the elementary students were only allowed to participate on Friday, which is Maroon and White Day.
On Monday morning lots of Warrior elementary students were dressed up for color day. Each class was given a color or theme. Third grade was given neon while K-2 were given rainbow.
The fourth graders had a great time with dressing up. Sydni McConnell took her pink to the max and even had pink hair while Dillon Wright proudly wore his "Tough Guys Wear Pink!" shirt.
The students will also be walking in the parade on Friday - also a new way to encourage school spirit among the youth. Businesses can also participate in the parade, although no candy can be thrown out.
The rest of the dress up days are as follows:
Dress Up Days:
Tuesday: Grandparents Day (dress up as an older person)
Wednesday: Opposite Day for HS (Dress as yourself for elementary)
Thursday: Movie/Celebrity Day (Elementary dress as Disney character)
Friday: Maroon & White Day
