Chamber To Debut New Cash Booth At Fair's Free-Will BBQ

BBQ and prizes will go hand-in-hand on Saturday evening at the Antelope County Fair as the chamber's new cash booth makes its debut.

The Neligh Chamber of Commerce and the Ag Society have partnered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the fair with a free-will offering BBQ from 5-8 p.m. The Chamber's newest marketing tool will also be at the BBQ.

Open to all ages, it will cost $2 for 15 seconds of "air time" in the cash booth. Inside the booth will be Neligh Bucks, coupons and gift certificates from various Neligh Chamber businesses.

"We're really excited to have the cash booth at the fair," said Neligh Chamber secretary Krista Schindler, who spear-headed the purchase. "We wanted to implement a fun marketing tool for businesses and the community, and this definitely is fun. The cash booth is getting a lot of attention already, so this will be great for businesses and be a great fundraiser for the Chamber."

The booth will be at various Chamber events throughout the year and can be rented by businesses to use at their events. 

The Chamber has sponsored the fair BBQ for several years. Typically, there is a $6 cost for the meal, but the Ag Society is helping cover some of the cost because this is the fair's 100th anniversary, making it possible at free will. 

"The BBQ is the main fundraiser for the Chamber, so it's great to have the Ag Society partner with us this year and be able to have it offered at free will," Chamber president Carrie Pitzer said. "The fair is a tremendous event for the community, and we're proud to be a part of it and serve meals to about 1,500 fair-goers."
