Bentley, Herley Both Guaranteed Medals For Neligh-Oakdale

A pair of medals will make their way to Neligh-Oakdale tomorrow.

Senior Connor Bentley and sophomore Louis Herley both are guaranteed medals Saturday at the Class D state wrestling tournament. They'll wrestle Saturday morning to determine which ones they'll vye for - third or fifth place.

At 195 pounds, Bentley lost his first match of the tournament on Friday against undefeated Brett Santin of Palmer (51-0) by an 11-2 decision. Santin finished runner-up last year and will fare the same or better on Saturday.

Bentley will face Clay Seifer of Stapleton-McPherson County, who was sixth last year, to determine which one will wrestle for third and which for fifth.

At 113 pounds, Herley avenged an earlier loss and defeated Josh Davis of Pender, who finished sixth last year, 10-4. It was a rematch of their district semifinal, which Davis won 8-4.

Herley will face Trey Dodson of North Platte St. Patrick's to determine which medal he'll be going for - third or fifth place.
