Whether you're a league golfer, have never golfed before, are from the Neligh-Oakdale are or just looking for a fun time, the Neligh-Oakdale Education Foundation wants to see you at their golf tournament June 14.
This inaugural event will serve as a major fundraiser for the foundation, which provides scholarships to Neligh-Oakdale graduates and classroom grants for teachers. Making this an even more exciting tournament is that all funds raised at this first tournament will be matched by an anonymous donor, according to Neligh-Oakdale Superintendent Kim Lingenfelter.
The 18-hole, 4-person scramble will be held at the Antelope Country Club on Saturday, June 14. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost is $160 per team and includes a meal afterward. A limited number of teams will be accepted, so teams are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Call the Antelope Country Club at 402-887-5211 to register.
"The Education Foundation has been planning this tournament for months, and it is definitely one not to miss," Lingenfelter said. "We have lots of wonderful flag prizes, door prizes and silent auction items for our participants."
About 40 businesses have committed to hole sponsorships and nearly two dozen more have provided prizes, Lingenfelter said.
"This is a great event for Neligh-Oakdale," Lingenfelter said. "We thank the businesses and community for their support and look forward to a wonderful day at the golf course in support of our students."
Flag prizes will be awarded, and mulligans, betting holes, split the pot and auction items will be available throughout the day.
