Elgin Public Announces 2018 Homecoming Candidates

The Elgin Public homecoming candidates and court have been announced. Coronation will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. in the EPS gym. 

Candidates for king are Garet Behnk, Mateo Kirstine, Hunter Reestman and Slade Spangler. Queen candidates are Breanna Carr, Anna Heilhecker, Kaylee Martinsen, Leslie Nichols, Mary Nichols, Grace Rittscher, Allyson Wemhoff and Kira Widger.

Elgin Public High School will kick off Homecoming Week with dress up days and snack days.​

Dress up days and snack days: 
Monday - Pajama Day and breakfast foods
Tuesday - Hawaiian Day and juice boxes/pouches
Wednesday - Class Decade Day - each class will choose a decade to represent and old-time candy
Thursday - Class TV Show Day - each class will choose a TV show to represent/dress as characters from and cookies and popcorn
Friday - Spirit Day - dress in red, black and silver and sports drinks

Students in grades 9-12 will be awarded points for the percentage of class members dressed up each day.  There will be lunchtime class competitions, a sidewalk chalk decorating contest and a poster contest as well. The winning high school class will be rewarded with a pizza party at the end of the week.

The Wolfpack will play its Homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. against Osmond. A Homecoming dance and pizza party will follow for students of both Pope John and Elgin Public.
