Reasons Seeking Office: I believe all generations should be involved in their local government and I feel our county needs younger generations to get involved. I have lived my whole life in Antelope County. I own a small business and have worked with and for many other businesses in our county. Our county is facing many issues and I would like to be part of the new commissioner system put in place by the people. I feel it is time that we the people of Antelope County make some changes.
Qualifications/Experience: I spent several years working across the mid U.S. in the underground utility business. That has given me experience in working with federal, state, county, and city governments on projects. I also gained knowledge in all types of road systems, railroads, water ways, and utilities. Currently I work with my family’s farming operation. I frequently travel county roads in over half of our current townships. I have a true interest in being part of the county government.
Public Office Before? This would be my first time seeking a public office. I am qualified and will do my best to represent Antelope County and its people.
Top 3 Issues Facing This Office/Board: Some issues in Antelope County that draw my attention are our road systems need repair and brought up to today’s standards. Currently and in the past our county has struggled on making decisions involving outside entities such as wind towers and pipelines. Another issue is the lack of standard parliamentary procedure at public county meetings.
Your Top 3 Priorities If Elected: I will represent the people of Antelope County. I will work to find ways to maintain and improve our county infrastructures. Work towards establishing a budget that allows funding for future repair of our road systems.
How will you make yourself available to the public: I’m always available and my current daily schedule is flexible. Contacting me is easy. My cell phone number is 402-750-9748.
Potential Conflicts of Interest? No, I have no conflicts of interest to disclose.

U.S. House of Representatives

Adrian Smith, Republican
Incumbent: Yes
Years in Office: 10
Reasons Seeking Office: We are at a pivotal moment in our history. We need strong conservative leadership representing us in Washington to make the difficult decisions so America can get back on track. I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I hope to continue to serve you. I would appreciate your vote on May 10.
Qualifications/Experience: I am a 6th generation Nebraskan dedicated to conservative, commonsense Nebraska principles.
Public Office Before? I have served in the United States House of Representatives for Nebraska’s Third District since 2007. Previously I served as a member of the Gering City Council (1994-1998) and as a State Senator in the Nebraska Unicameral (1999-2007).
Top 3 Issues Facing This Office/Board: The three biggest issues facing the United States are the deficit and the national debt, excessive government regulations, and national security.
Your Top 3 Priorities If Elected: First, we need to stop spending more money than we have which is why I support a balanced budget amendment to force fiscal responsibility. Next, we need comprehensive regulatory and tax reform along with solutions to expand Nebraska’s exports. The size and scope of the federal government, including the EPA, the new health care law, and the overly complex tax code, are increasingly burdensome on our farmers, ranchers and small business owners. Finally, American leadership is needed in a world which is rapidly growing more dangerous. Unfortunately, the Obama administration lacks a strategy defeat ISIS and continues to underestimate terrorist organizations and other enemies. We must demonstrate strength and leadership to safeguard our national security and ensure our military has the support they need.
How will you make yourself available to the public: My rural upbringing taught me hard work and common sense. The best way to reach people is to meet them in the community. I’ve traveled countless miles listening to you and fighting for your interests, and I will continue to do so.
Potential Conflicts of Interest? No.
