Have There Been More Watches, Warnings & Tornadoes?
Tornado watch number 367 has been issued by the National Weather Service, begging the question - is that a lot or are people more aware of the weather due to recent severity? And have there been more tornadoes in 2014?
The 367th watch was issued at 4:05 p.m. on June 29 and included Antelope County in Northeast Nebraska. A look back at when the 367th was issued in recent years shows that 2014 actually has had fewer watches or warnings issued that past years.

Unofficially from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there have been 315 confirmed tornadoes in the U.S. in 2014 from Jan. 1 through June 19. Of them, 105 were rated an EF0, 130 an EF1, 46 an EF2, 18 an EF3, 7 an EF4 and 0 and EF5. Five have yet to be rated.
The tornado that hit Pilger on June 16 was ruled an EF4.
