The National Weather Service has Antelope County in an Winter Weather Advisory through noon, which is the same time the Wind Chill Advisory begins. That advisory will last until noon on Friday. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 6 on Thursday, but it will never feel warmer than -16 until Friday morning. The NWS is reminding people that frostbite on exposed skin can occur in as little as 30 minutes. Snow, sleet or rain is possible during this time, which can lead to hazardous driving conditions. Buses will run accordingly.

Eastern Nebraska is in a high wind warning until noon on Monday and will be downgraded to a wind advisory from noon until 6 p.m. when gusts drop back to around 50 mph. Wind will blow from the northwest. The National Weather Service has issued the alert an said damaging winds will blow own trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Brace yourself for a rough week across Northeast Nebraska. While Sunday should see temperatures in the mid-40s, by Thursday the wind chill will be as low as -37 in the area. Antelope County is expected to reach -31 degrees wind chill, which will feel like a 75-degree difference.
