Make it six straight for the hot-shooting Clearwater-Orchard boys.
The Cyclones extended their win streak to six games, topping Plainview 67-55 on Tuesday night in Orchard.
The Cyclones were in control for much of the game thanks to a fast start in the first quarter, going up 18-6 before heading into the break ahead 28-19.
The win was fueled by four Cyclones reaching double figures in scoring, led by 16 from Jacob Long. Blake Hoke added 15, Ryan Wilhelm had 12 and Liam Odell had 10 as Clearwater-Orchard shot 52 percent from the floor. Under the net, it was Wilhelm leading the way with eight rebounds followed by seven from Odell. Chris Kester dished out four assists and Kirby Willats had three more.
The girls weren't able to add a win of their own, falling to the Pirates 46-31.
The loss came despite a strong effort from Brooklynn Chipps, who had a team-high nine points and 15 rebounds. Julia Thiele and Grace Rittscher each added six points with Rittscher pulling in an additional 11 boards. Allison Kerkman had a solid performance on defense, finishing with five steals.
